So you know I’ve been making changes to my office, and fixing up my second desk. Well the day has come, and finally went to get my 2018 Mac Mini. I was going to build my Mac Mini and upgrade the processor to the Core i7, but opted not to as it would have taken a little longer to build. So…I picked up the following setup.
- 3.0GHZ 6 Core (turbo boost up to 4.1GHZ)
- 8th Gen Core i5 Processor
- 8GB RAM
- Intel UHD Graphics 630
- 256GB PCIe-based SSD Storage
I paired it with my new keyboard from Logitech, the MK470 with M430 Mouse. I hooked it up to my 34 inch Ultra Wide angle monitor from LG, and my Thonet & Vander speakers. I’m ready to go, and should have no issues going forward with NEEDS.
Wanting is another story though, but I should be good for my level of editing on YouTube.
I’ve read tons of stories on how the Mac Mini is NOT a good buy, but like I said. I did my research, and this is MORE than enough computer for me. (I also still have my 5k iMac on my other desk if I just REALLY need some more horsepower, but I think I will do ok.) I use iMovie to edit everything on MacOS, and Powerdirector on everything Chrome or Android OS. Video at the break…
